Location details
Boat location
The address where the boats are located is:
Parkhaven 3, 8243 PE Lelystad.
The boats of Brug Jachtverhuur are located at the B-jettie. You must first register at our floating office, which can also be found directly at the B-jettie in front of the restaurant.
Boat License
A boating license to rent a sailing yacht in the Netherlands is not necessary if the sailing yacht is no longer than 15 meters and the sailing speed cannot exceed 20 km per hour.
All sailing yachts of Brug Jachtverhuur are shorter than 15 meters. You do need to have sufficient experience sailing on equivalent cabin sailing yachts. If you want to sail to the Wadden Sea, you need a boat license 2 and experience with the tides. A North Sea package is also mandatory for the North Sea
Deposit
The deposit must be paid in cash or by credit card at the start of the rental period (transfer). This can also be transferred by bank, 1 day before departure.

After the rental period:
1. The renter will receive the deposit paid in advance upon return of the sailing yacht in cash, by means of cancellation authorization (credit card) or refund (bank), provided there is no new damage to the sailing yacht and no damage has been caused to third parties.
2. In the event of damage caused by the renter to the rental yacht or to third parties, the damage will be paid by the renter up to a maximum of the deductible / deposit. In case of damage, the entire deposit is always withheld. If the damage is so big that the next tenant cannot sail out, we will hold you liable for the consequential damage and an amount of up to € 500 will apply in addition to the deductible. This is set out in the Hiswa conditions, article 10.
3. If the tenant damages several times, the amount of damage per damage (maximum the deposit each time) will be paid by the tenant. Yacht repairs are often expensive and your liability for lost rental income (when a yacht can no longer be rented out due to damage) can also be considerable. You can reduce your security deposit, which covers your security deposit for 85%.
With your booking you will receive an application form from Unigarant insurance that you can fill in.
Additional costs
There is no bed linen on board. You can rent bed linen, which consists of: pillow with cover, duvet, duvet cover, bottom sheet, towel and washcloth (€ 35, – p.p.).
You can also rent a washing-up package consisting of: tea towel, towel, dishcloth, washing-up brush and washing-up liquid (€ 5) with your reservation.
Damage
In case of damage, breakdown, damage or otherwise, the tenant will contact the lesser as soon as possible.

Cancellation
If the tenant wishes to cancel or rebook the booking, he must inform the lessor in writing as soon as possible. The lessor is entitled to a fixed compensation of:
– 15% of the agreed rent in case of cancellation up to 3 months before the start of the rental period;
– 50% of the agreed rent in case of cancellation up to 2 months before the start of the rental period;
– 75% of the agreed rent in case of cancellation up to. 1 month before the start of the rental period;
– 100% of the agreed rent in case of cancellation within 1 month or less before the start of the rental period.
The lessor charges € 30 administration costs in addition to the above cancellation / rebooking costs.
What is the minimum age to rent?
You must be at least 21 years old to rent our sailing yachts. You can always hire a skipper from us. For the Sneekweek, a minimum age of tenant and skipper of 23 years applies.
Do I need an ID to rent?
You can only rent a sailing yacht with us on presentation of a valid proof of identity (driver’s license, identity card, passport). We make a copy of your ID that will be destroyed immediately after the rental period.
Insurance
Our yachts are All-Risk insured with a deductible equal to the deposit. If damage is incurred, we will withhold this from the deposit. If the damage is bigger, we will call in the insurance. The costs for this insurance are € 55,-
You have the option to insure your deposit by means of a so-called deposit insurance. This covers your deposit for 85% in case of damage, however, the deposit is still deposited with us. In the event of damage, the entire amount of the deposit will be paid by the insurance afterwards.
There are several providers on the market and of course you have the free choice. We often work together with Unigarant Insurance. We will send you the application form together with the contract when you have made the booking.
On the form, you can also take out storm/fog cover. If there is fog or wind above wind force 7, you can be reimbursed for this day by the insurance. Please note: this insurance can only be taken out 30 days before departure!
If you wish, it is possible to take out a cancellation insurance. The costs for this are approximately 4.65% of the total booking and can be found on the insurance form that we provide with the contract.
Please note: if the cancellation is Corona related, there will be no refund.

Ship transfer
The tenant hands over the sailing yacht to the lessor at the end of the rental period, at the agreed time and place and in the same condition as he received the yacht. Should you arrive later than stated in the contract, we will charge € 50 per half hour.
The boat should be delivered as follows:
– diesel tank full (You can refuel at: Flevo Marina or Batavia harbor)
– drinking water tank (s) full
– shore power from yacht on
– kitchen inventory clean in the cupboards
– waste bin empty and clean (waste in the appropriate containers)
– Damage must be reported immediately upon return, so that we are not faced with surprises.
What experience do I need to rent a boat?
Before booking, we will ask you what type of sailing yachts you have sailed as a skipper. After approval you can rent the boat.
VHF licence
Our yachts are equipped with a registered VHF (some with an AIS receiver). Only if you are in possession of a VHF certificate you may use the VHF.
On board
Do you have bedlinen?

Can I take my dog?
You can only bring a small dog in consultation with us. We must check this with the relevant owner of the yacht. In case of an agreement, additional cleaning costs of € 70 will be charged.
We request that you do not allow the dog inside the boat on the couches and in the sleeping cabins. You must therefore bring a basket or dogbench.
Diesel Refueling
Diesel and water tanks are full at the start of your rental period. The rental yacht must be returned with a full diesel and water tank. If this is not done, we will charge a fee.
Life-Jackets & life-lines
On board are sufficiently approved automatic life-jackets and at least two lifelines.
Can I smoke on board?
Make sure to be outside, Smoking inside the boat is forbidden.
Seasickness
Scopolamine patches.
Your doctor can also write you a prescription for a scopolamine patch. This patch contains a medicine against nausea. You stick the patch behind your ear six to fifteen hours before departure and can stay on for up to three days.
Cinnarizine 25 PCH (start before the trip, available by prescription from a doctor).
Would you rather not use seasickness medication?
Sea-Band wristbands. These straps counteract nausea by applying light pressure to your wrists.
Ginger can also help with seasickness and always have something to eat before you leave.
Electricity - 230 volt connection
Free electricity is available at the Deko Marina at our rental jetty. You take the cable with you when you sail away. As soon as you arrive in another port, you can often (for a fee) use shore power. There are regular sockets on board, which can be used when the boat is on shore power.
With a 12V plug (which goes into the cigarette lighter in the car) you can also charge your mobile phone while on the road.

Parking
There is a free parking lot at the Deko Marina with enough parking spaces. Two charging stations are available to charge your car.

Sailing
Can I sail to the North sea?
If you are going to sail by sea, a North Sea package is mandatory.
Costs are € 250. It is not possible to sail to a country outside the EU, e.g. England.
Offshore sailing is only possible if you have an agreement with Brug Jachtverhuur.
If you set sail without consultation, you are not insured against damage or other defects.

Sailing Regatta
If you would like to participate in a regatta / sailing competition, please indicate this when booking. In some cases no permission is given for this. With permission, the deposit is doubled.
Sail or Boxtraining
When booking, you can choose a skipper or instructor for one or more days. The instructor will be happy to teach you how to maneuver and sail in a practical way with the chosen sailing yacht.
We do not give individual sailing courses. This is always in combination with boat hire.

Weather conditions
If you are unable to sail or if you are unsure about this, please always contact us! It is not allowed to sail above wind force 6 (from wind force 7 you are no longer insured and prediction of unfavorable weather conditions. We cannot give financial compensation in bad weather conditions.
However, you can take out insurance with storm / wind and fog coverage, after which you can reclaim these lost day (s) from the insurance. However, you can only conclude this 30 days before departure. You will receive a boating insurance application form with your contract, which includes this.
